Web design has always been a passion of mine and I have been designing websites since HTML 4.01 (sometime around the turn of the millennium). Over this time, I have taken breaks from both web and graphic design, but I always find myself returning. Over the years I have designed over two dozen websites, many of which I coded by hand from scratch. I have been through the hard-coded “Hello world!” days, to JavaScript, to PHP, to Flash and ActionScript, to CSS (no more tables!), to Blogger, to WordPress. These days (thankfully) the hard-coding option is a lot less common, but I have carried over my coding knowledge and attention to detail as the web has grown and developed. Below you can find a list of my skills and web design interests.

Sample Work

Taking a look around this site is a good way to see what my current web design interests are. It is running a client-side implementation of WordPress and a heavily modified version of the Flash theme (by ThemeGrill). I designed and created many of the graphics/visual elements of the site. All the photos featured on the site are images that I have taken (aside from the photos of me). Behind the scenes, I have written custom HTML, CSS, and PHP functions for the site.

The Wonder Workshop was a really fun site to work on. I have included it here because the client had a very unique and particular vision for the site, which I did my best to implement. For this project I wrote custom CSS and other back-end code, as well as installing and setting up the client-side implementation of WordPress and heavily customizing the theme and graphics on the site.
